Graphical Logins

These instructions will create a secure, graphical session between your computer and Microway's Test Drive cluster. All commands and data sent will be encrypted.

NoMachine provides responsive remote access to the Test Drive cluster. It behaves just as if you were sitting at the machine (including audio, file transfers and USB storage devices). You can access the cluster from your web browser, or via a dedicated NoMachine client. Linux, Windows and MacOS systems. Android and Apple mobile clients are also supported!

Before continuing, ensure that your account has been created. You should have received an e-mail which includes the following information:

  • your username

  • your password

Connect via web browser

Microway's Test Drive cluster provides graphical sessions without the need for NoMachine to be installed. All you need is a web browser! To get started, open this link in your web browser:

https://gateway.microway.com:4443

Once the site has loaded, use the username and password you've been provided.

Once logged in, the browser's appearance will match that of the native NoMachine client. Follow along with the session startup shown below, starting with creating a new Virtual Desktop.

Connect via NoMachine Client

If you do not have NoMachine installed, follow the NoMachine installation instructions to set up and start the NoMachine client software. Once the NoMachine client is installed, continue with the instructions below.

Click create a new connection

Select the NX Protocol

Enter the Hostname

gateway.microway.com

The Port number, which defaults to 4000, should not be changed.

Double-click the Cluster Connection

Double-check that the key matches

Enter your Username and Password

Click Create a new virtual desktop

Change to full-screen by clicking the highlighted button

Your GUI Appears

From this window, you can perform any tasks you would normally run. NoMachine ensures that the connection remains responsive during your session.

Changing NoMachine Session Settings

To change NoMachine session options: 1. Move the mouse cursor to the top-right corner of the screen 2. Wait for the page curl effect to appear (as shown above) 3. Click the page curl
